	The 34 Technical Advisory Committee

The 34 Technical Advisory Committee (34 TAC) will provide overall policy direction to the project. This group will include key representatives from local, regional, state and federal transportation and environmental agencies. The project manager and his representatives will meet with the 34 TAC at least bi-monthly during the alternatives analysis portion of the study. These meeting are scheduled to update them and solicit their input on public involvement activities.

The responsibilities of the 34 TAC members are to:

Offer policy recommendations and guide the development of the study;
Receive and assess reports on progress and schedule;
Coordinate with their respective agencies, and;
Provide oversight of major activities associated with the study.

The 34 TAC will be composed of representatives from the following organizations:

Federal Highway Administration
TxDOT, Dallas District & Kaufman Area Office
North Central Texas Council of Governments
Kaufman County
The Cities of Kaufman, Terrell, Post Oak Bend and Oak Ridge
Kaufman and Terrell Independent School Districts
Emergency Service Providers
Affected Utility Districts
Others as Identified

Keeping the local, state and federal elected officials with jurisdiction within the study area informed of the study’s progress is also important. Those elected officials are listed below. Each will be included on the mailing list to receive announcements, meeting minutes, and newsletters during the course of the study. These elected officials will also receive invitations to the public meetings and hearing. A listing of the elected officials in this corridor is provided in Appendix C.
